The Melbourne Storm have added another promising young forward to their future pack, with Oryn Keeley signing a two-year deal to join the club from the beginning of the 2027 NRL season.

At just 22 years old, Keeley has already built a reputation as one of the most hard-working young edge forwards in the competition. Originally coming through the Newcastle Knights junior system, he shifted to Queensland in 2023, progressing rapidly through the Queensland Cup before earning his NRL breakthrough with the Dolphins.

Keeley made his debut in April 2024 for the Dolphins against the Parramatta Eels and has since made 22 NRL appearances for the league’s newest franchise. His high-motor playing style, defensive intensity, and ability to run strong lines on the edge have attracted interest from several clubs—but it’s the Storm who have secured his services as they shape their next-generation forward pack.

The move represents another smart piece of recruitment from Melbourne, who continue to target emerging talent capable of thriving in their renowned development system. Keeley is expected to compete for a spot in the back-row rotation, with the Storm believing his best football is still ahead of him.
