The Perth Bears have continued their squad build ahead of 2027, confirming the signings of Apa Twidle and Kit Laulilii.
Twidle has agreed to a deal through to the end of 2029, while Laulilii will join the club until the end of 2028, further strengthening the Bears’ depth as they prepare for their inaugural NRL campaign.
Twidle Announces Himself in Style
Twidle arrives after a memorable NRL debut for the Parramatta Eels earlier this season.
Thrown into the action as a replacement for Bailey Simonsson during the Easter Monday clash against the Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium, Twidle made an immediate impact.
The young outside back scored two tries in the space of three minutes, announcing himself at first-grade level despite the Eels going on to lose 22-20 in golden point.
Laulilii Brothers Reunited
Kit Laulilii will link up with younger brother Luke Laulilii, who has already committed to Perth, adding a family connection to the club’s growing roster.
The former Wests Tigers outside back made his debut in 2023 and has played three NRL matches, featuring once in each season since.
While he is yet to appear in the current campaign, the move to Perth presents a fresh opportunity to push for consistent first-grade football.
Bears Build Continues
The latest signings further highlight Perth’s strategy of blending youth with emerging NRL talent as they assemble a competitive squad for 2027.
With each addition, the Bears are continuing to shape a roster capable of making an immediate impact when they enter the competition.
