Brisbane Broncos centre Kotoni Staggs has been hit with a $1,000 fine after the NRL Match Review Committee found him guilty of a Grade 1 careless high tackle.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe incident took place in the 76th minute of Broncos’ Round 3 clash on Friday night. Staggs was charged for the high contact on opponent Moses Leo.
It was the 2026 season’s first offence for the Broncos star, so no three-year incident-free discount applied. If Staggs enters an early guilty plea he will secure the lower $1,000 penalty instead of the $1,500 he would have faced otherwise.
No suspension was issued.
