Match Review Committee Hands Down Multiple Round 6 Charges

Latrell Mitchell, Billy Burns, Trent Loiero and Jahrome Hughes have been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Saturday’s Round 6 matches in the 2026 NRL season.

Loiero is facing a suspension due to his prior record, while Mitchell headlines the list of players charged after a high tackle incident early in the Rabbitohs clash.

Key Charge

Trent Loiero (Storm)

Loiero faces the most significant sanction after being charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle following an incident involving Taine Tuaupiki.

Due to it being a third and subsequent offence, the Storm forward is facing a suspension.

  • Early Plea: $3,000 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: 2-match suspension

Latrell Mitchell (Rabbitohs)

Mitchell has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle following contact involving Simi Sasagi early in the match.

  • If Guilty at Panel: $2,500 fine

Billy Burns (Sharks)

Burns faces a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge after an incident involving Siua Wong.

  • Early Plea: $1,800 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $2,500 fine

Jahrome Hughes (Storm)

Hughes has also been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle, involving Sam Healey.

  • Early Plea: $1,800 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $2,500 fine

What Happens Next

Players charged by the NRL Match Review Committee must decide whether to:

  • Accept the early guilty plea, or
  • Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.

Any contested charges will be heard early next week.
