Match Review Committee Hands Down First Round 3 Charges
Josh Papalii, Joseph Tapine and Lachlan Galvin have been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Thursday night’s Round 3 match in the 2026 NRL season.
The Canberra Raiders pair were both charged for careless high tackles, while Bulldogs youngster Galvin was hit with a dangerous contact charge during the clash.
Papalii is facing a suspension if he contests the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel, while the other offences carry financial penalties with an early guilty plea.
Charge Breakdown
Josh Papalii (Raiders)
Papalii has been charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle following an incident involving Samuel Hughes in the 17th minute.
- Early Plea: 1-match suspension
- If Guilty at Panel: 2-match suspension
Joseph Tapine (Raiders)
Tapine was also charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle after contact involving Harry Hayes in the 18th minute.
- Early Plea: $1,000 fine
- If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine
Lachlan Galvin (Bulldogs)
Galvin faces a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge following an incident involving Hudson Young during the second half.
- Early Plea: $1,000 fine
- If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine
What Happens Next
The charged players must decide whether to:
- Accept the early guilty plea, or
- Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.
Any contested charges will be heard early next week.
