The Manly Sea Eagles have locked in Tolutau Koula on a massive five-year contract extension, securing the rising star until the end of the 2031 NRL season.

The 23-year-old has rapidly become one of the club’s most exciting backline weapons and is widely viewed as the long-term future of Manly’s spine.

Koula has already amassed 82 NRL appearances and scored 38 tries, underlining both his durability and strike power at a young age. Whether deployed at centre or filling in at fullback, his pace and footwork have made him a consistent threat on the edge.

The Future No.1?

The extension comes after an off-season filled with speculation surrounding the future of current fullback Tom Trbojevic. While Trbojevic ultimately secured a contract running through to the end of 2027, questions lingered about Manly’s long-term direction at the position.

Koula is seen internally as the club’s future No.1 — a player capable of eventually taking ownership of the fullback role when the time comes.

By securing Koula through 2031, Manly have ensured continuity in their backline and protected one of the club’s most valuable emerging assets.

Building Stability at Brookvale

The long-term commitment signals strong belief in Koula’s development trajectory and provides stability as the Sea Eagles shape their next competitive window.

At just 23, Koula’s best football is still ahead of him. With five more years locked in beyond this season, Manly have made it clear they see him as a cornerstone of their future success.
