It’s been a historic season for the Gold Coast Titans, going on a club record ten-game winning run to finish second and host the preliminary final.
A three-game losing streak caused the reigning premiers to slip down the ladder, however a late-season recovery helped them to third and a semi final victory over Newcastle.
There’s a few changes to the Titans after their week off. Phoenix-Raine Hippi is out with a collarbone injury, with Destiny Mino-Sinapati moving to the wing and Georgia Grey to centre. Fanua Rimoni is in at prop, with Eta Sikahele sliding to the bench and Pauline Piliae-Rasabale dropping to the reserves. Jessika Elliston has also been named among the reserves as she aims to return from an MCL injury suffered in Round 1.
Just the one change for the Broncos following their win over the Knights, with forward Bree Spreadborough out due to a lower leg fracture. Reegan Hicks takes her place on the interchange.
It’s been five weeks since the two teams last met in a 28-20 Titans win set up by a powerful opening 20 minutes. Teagan Levi scored a double that day to all-but guarantee a top two finish on the ladder while the Broncos were consigned to a third-straight loss.
In a game full of superstars, it may be the halves who have the biggest influence on the result. The Titans have marquee five-eighth Teagan Levi alongside the cool head of Lauren Brown, while the Broncos have the experienced Ali Brigginshaw alongside the exciting Jesse Southwell. The signing of Levi has been huge for the Titans in 2026, with her attacking brilliance a major factor in their ten-match winning streak, while Brigginshaw continued to show just how important she is to the Broncos, who lost all three matches during her suspension.
There is only one team that the Broncos do not have a winning record against in the NRLW and it is the Titans. In six previous meetings, both teams have won three, with the Titans winning their match earlier this season after losing the previous two meetings by 40 points each. The Titans have also won two of their three meetings at Cbus Super Stadium.
This game is near impossible to pick, but with a week off following a ten-game winning run, the Titans should be able to win a nailbiter.
