Match Review Committee Hands Down Further Round 2 Charges

Apisai Koroisau, Heilum Luki, Emre Guler and Jesse Ramien have been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Saturday’s Round 2 matches in the 2026 NRL season.

The charges include three careless high tackles and a dangerous contact offence, while Ramien was also charged for a shoulder charge during Cronulla’s clash.

All four players face financial penalties if they accept the early guilty plea, avoiding a potential hearing at the NRL Judiciary.


Charge Breakdown

Apisai Koroisau (Tigers)

Koroisau was charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact following an incident involving Griffin Neame in the 5th minute.

  • Early Plea: $1,000 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine

Heilum Luki (Cowboys)

Luki was charged for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Alex Twal during the 25th minute.

  • Early Plea: $1,000 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine

Emre Guler (Dragons)

Guler has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle involving Stefano Utoikamanu in the 77th minute.

  • Early Plea: $1,000 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine

Jesse Ramien (Sharks)

Ramien faces a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge after an incident involving Thomas Jenkins late in the match.

  • Early Plea: $1,500 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $2,000 fine

What Happens Next

Each player has the option to:

  • Accept the early guilty plea, or
  • Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.

Any contested charges would be heard early next week.
