Leeds Rhinos have secured one of their brightest young prospects for the long haul, with Max Simpson re-signing through to the end of the 2029 Super League season.

Despite injury setbacks stalling the early stages of his career, the Rhinos remain convinced that Simpson is a future star at Headingley. The young centre has shown glimpses of his potential across 7 first-grade appearances, and the club is eager to see him flourish with a clean bill of health over the coming seasons.

Simpson will take on the No. 26 jersey for the 2026 campaign, with Leeds set to open their season on February 13 against the Leigh Leopards at Leigh Sports Village. His re-signing continues Leeds’ commitment to building around homegrown talent while maintaining roster stability under their long-term squad plan.

The Rhinos’ high-performance staff have long praised Simpson’s athleticism, defensive reads, and natural footwork—all traits they believe will make him a key figure for the club if injuries can stay behind him.

With a new four-year deal locked in, Simpson now has the platform to make his mark as the Rhinos’ next rising star.
