Melbourne Storm winger Will Warbrick is heading home, signing a three-year deal with the New Zealand Warriors from 2027.

The 28-year-old Kawerau-born outside back will link up with the Warriors once his Melbourne contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.

Warbrick is expected to become the ideal replacement for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, who is departing for Super League club Wakefield Trinity in 2027.

A sensation since code-hopping from rugby union in 2023, the powerful winger has been in strong form for the Storm. Last weekend he exploded for four tries against the North Queensland Cowboys in Melbourne’s loss at Queensland Country Bank Stadium – the second time he has posted a four-try haul, after first achieving the feat against the Wests Tigers in Round 16, 2023.

His elite aerial ability and finishing power will be a major boost for the Warriors as they continue their push towards a maiden NRL premiership under head coach Andrew Webster.

The move strengthens the Warriors’ outside backs and brings a proven NRL try-scorer back to New Zealand soil as the club builds towards sustained title contention.

Yesterday, Melbourne secured the services of Jamayne Isaako on a two-year deal. They have now lost Nick Meaney and Warbrick to rival clubs for the 2027 season.
