SATURDAY 6pm – TOWNSVILLE BLACKHAWKS v MACKAY CUTTERS

Another round of Foley Shield is on in Townsville this weekend, with last placed Mackay probably only having this to play for at the moment. Tough gig too, having to play the second placed Townsville Blackhawks in Townsville.

Townsville were the only side in the top 4 to win last weekend, and as a result have got themselves into outright second place. Having the best for and against also helps if Burleigh slip up again this weekend. For Mackay it is a second consecutive tough assignment after defeat in Port Moresby last weekend. They do have NRL quality in Lachlan Coote, and could get former Origin player Justin O’Neill too.

SATURDAY 6pm – WYNNUM SEAGULLS v NORTHERN PRIDE

Wynnum finally broke their 2018 Home hoodoo last weekend with a 30-24 win over the Ipswich Jets, and will do well if they double up this weekend. That is because they welcome the Northern Pride, one of the form sides in the competition, and a team who have beaten both Redcliffe and Burleigh on the road this year. Should be plenty entertaining, the Seaguls have two of the Intrust Super Cup’s great try scorers in Daniel Ogden and Delouise Hoeter, and the Pride have Jake Clifford, the competition’s leading point scorer.
