Key Takeaways

  • Three players were charged from Friday night’s Round 27 matches
  • No charges were laid from Thursday’s Bulldogs vs Broncos clash
  • Moeaki Fotuaika is the only player facing suspension
  • Isaako and Talau both qualified for incident-free discounts

Moeaki Fotuaika Charge Details

Fotuaika was charged with a Grade 1 contrary conduct offence following an incident in the 79th minute involving Dolphins hooker Kurt Donoghoe.

The Titans forward has a third and subsequent offence on his judiciary record, leading to a significantly increased penalty despite the Grade 1 classification.

Early Plea: $3,000 fine
If Found Guilty at Panel: 2 match suspension

Other Charges

  • Jamayne Isaako: Grade 1 dangerous contact (tripping) (78th minute vs AJ Brimson) – $750 early plea fine ($1,000 panel) after qualifying for the incident-free discount.
  • Tommy Talau: Grade 1 dangerous contact (48th minute vs Euan Aitken) – $750 early plea fine ($1,000 panel) after qualifying for the incident-free discount.

What Happens Next

Players charged by the NRL Match Review Committee will now decide whether to:

  • accept the early guilty plea for a reduced penalty, or
  • challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.

Should Fotuaika elect to contest the charge and be found guilty, the penalty would increase to a two-match suspension.

If Isaako and Talau accept their early pleas, both matters will be resolved via financial penalties without requiring a Judiciary hearing.
