Match Review Committee Hands Down Further Round 9 Charges
Kotoni Staggs has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Saturday’s Round 9 matches in the 2026 NRL season.
Despite multiple flashpoints during the match, Staggs was the only player charged, while Victor Radley avoided sanction despite being placed on report several times.

Player Charged in Round 9 (Saturday)
- Kotoni Staggs – Dangerous Contact (Grade 2)
Key Charge
Kotoni Staggs (Broncos)
Staggs has been charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following an incident involving Hugo Savala in the 70th minute.
The Broncos centre was sent to the sin bin for the offence, a moment that proved pivotal in the match.
Brisbane had mounted a remarkable comeback from 30-0 down to trail 30-24, however the sin bin period saw their momentum stall as their chances of completing the comeback faded.
Due to it being his second offence on record, Staggs is now facing a suspension.
- Early Plea: 2-match suspension
- If Guilty at Panel: 3-match suspension
Radley Escapes Charge
Despite being placed on report three times, Roosters forward Victor Radley was not charged by the Match Review Committee.
His incidents were reviewed but ultimately did not meet the threshold for a charge.
What Happens Next
The charged player must decide whether to:
- Accept the early guilty plea, or
- Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.
Any contested matter will be heard early next week.
