Match Review Committee Hands Down Final Round 5 Charges

Adam Pompey, Greg Marzhew, Kaeo Weekes, Hudson Young and Tyson Frizell have been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Sunday’s Round 5 matches in the 2026 NRL season.

Pompey faces a suspension after being hit with a Grade 2 charge, while multiple other incidents were picked up across the final day of matches.

Pompey faces the most significant sanction after being charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following an incident involving Briton Nikora in the 67th minute.

Greg Marzhew (Knights)

Marzhew has been charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact following an incident involving Kaeo Weekes.

Kaeo Weekes (Raiders)

Weekes faces a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge after contact involving Phoenix Crossland.

Hudson Young (Raiders)

Young has been charged with Grade 1 Contrary Conduct following an incident involving Dominic Young.

  • If Guilty at Panel: $1,500 fine

Tyson Frizell (Knights)

Frizell has been charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact, with this being his second offence on record, involving Joseph Tapine.

  • Early Plea: $1,800 fine
  • If Guilty at Panel: $2,500 fine

What Happens Next

Players charged by the NRL Match Review Committee must decide whether to:

  • Accept the early guilty plea, or
  • Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.

Any contested charges will be heard early this week.
