Match Review Committee Hands Down Final Round 9 Charges

Dylan Brown, Thomas Hazelton, Alex Seyfarth, Ben Trbojevic, Luke Brooks and Jack Cogger have been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following Sunday’s Round 9 matches in the 2026 NRL season.

Cogger is facing a suspension after a Grade 2 charge, while several other players have been hit with fines due to prior offences.

Key Charge

Jack Cogger (Panthers)

Cogger faces the most significant sanction after being charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle following an incident involving Tolutau Koula. Cogger was sent to the sin bin for the incident which came up in his 100th NRL game.

  • Early Plea: $1,800 fine (second offence)

Luke Brooks (Sea Eagles)

  • Incident: Dangerous Contact (Tripping) on Dylan Edwards
  • Early Plea: $1,800 fine (second offence)

What Happens Next

Players charged by the NRL Match Review Committee must decide whether to:

  • Accept the early guilty plea, or
  • Challenge the charge at the NRL Judiciary panel.

Any contested charges will be heard early this week.
