Player Background

Grant Anderson, 26, made his NRL debut for the Melbourne Storm in 2022 against the Sydney Roosters, famously scoring two tries in his first game. The versatile outside back (winger/centre) spent four seasons with the Storm, making 50 NRL appearances and scoring 23 tries before joining the Brisbane Broncos for the 2026 season.

Current Form & Impact

Anderson has struggled for opportunities at Red Hill, appearing in just two games for the Broncos this season — their Round 3 win over his former club Melbourne and the Round 4 victory against the Dolphins. He suffered a serious grade 3 MCL injury and fractured tibial plateau in the Dolphins match, which has sidelined him until around June.

Why It Matters for the Warriors

With the move forming part of broader roster reshaping linked to Mitch Barnett’s departure to Brisbane, the Warriors have moved early to bolster their outside backs. Anderson brings proven finishing ability and versatility across the backline, giving the club valuable depth and options as they plan beyond 2026.
