The Brisbane Broncos have officially named a powerful travelling squad for their World Club Challenge showdown against Hull Kingston Rovers, with the NRL heavyweights set to face the Super League outfit on Friday, February 20, kicking off at 5:30am Brisbane time.

Brisbane will head to the UK boasting a near full-strength group, highlighted by the inclusion of captain Adam Reynolds, dynamic fullback Reece Walsh, and representative stars Ezra Mam, Payne Haas, and Jordan Riki.

The World Club Challenge pits the reigning NRL and Super League heavyweights against each other, and the Broncos will be aiming to reassert Australian dominance after more recent games went the way of the English champions.

Experience Meets Youth

Coach Kevin Walters has opted for a balanced squad that blends experience with emerging talent. Veterans like Ben Hunt, Patrick Carrigan, Corey Jensen, and Xavier Willison provide a hardened core, while younger players such as Kotoni Staggs, Blake Mozer, Josiah Karapani, and Gehamat Shibasaki add explosiveness and depth.

The inclusion of Grant Anderson, Jack Gosiewski, Cory Paix, and Aubix Tawha also gives Walters flexibility across the park as the Broncos prepare for the unique challenges of an early-season international clash.

A Statement Opportunity

The match against Hull KR shapes as a significant early-season test for Brisbane, who will be keen to set the tone for their 2026 campaign while reclaiming the World Club Challenge trophy.

With elite talent across the spine and a dominant forward pack, the Broncos will enter the clash as favourites—but Hull KR’s physical style and home-ground conditions promise a stern examination.

All eyes will be on whether Brisbane can translate their domestic dominance onto the global stage when the two competitions collide in one of rugby league’s showcase events.
