Bulldogs Re-Sign Fijian Powerhouse Viliame Kikau Until End of 2028
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have secured a major retention coup, confirming that forward Viliame Kikau has signed a contract extension to remain at Belmore until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
The 30-year-old Fijian international has been a cornerstone of the Bulldogs’ pack since arriving in 2023, bringing size, power and a potent running game to the edge. Standing at 195 cm and weighing 116 kg, Kikau’s physical presence and experience make him one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition.
Kikau’s impact at the Bulldogs has been significant. In 2024 he played 23 matches as Canterbury returned to the finals after a long drought. That same year he collected the club’s highest honour when he was awarded the Dr George Peponis Medal as the Bulldogs’ Player of the Year, underlining his importance to the team.
In the 2025 season, Kikau continued to lead from the front — his powerful runs, offloads and tackle breaks consistently put pressure on opposition defences. Bulldogs coaching staff and fans alike see him as a foundational piece for the club’s forward pack as they move toward sustained contention.
The extension also provides continuity and leadership for a Bulldogs squad undergoing change, giving coach Cameron Ciraldo a stable platform around which to build future success.
