Wakefield Trinity have confirmed that fullback Josh Rourke has signed a new two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027 Super League season.

Rourke initially joined Trinity ahead of the 2025 campaign on a one-year deal from the London Broncos, with the club holding an option for a further year.

The 25-year-old has made a significant impact in his debut season at Belle Vue, stepping up in the absence of first-choice fullback Max Jowitt, who has been sidelined due to injury. Rourke’s performances have earned praise from head coach Daryl Powell, who described him as “a genuine option” in the squad.

In the 2025 season so far, Rourke has made 9 Super League appearances, scoring 1 try and providing 2 try assists. He has also contributed defensively with 26 tackles and has been reliable under the high ball.

Rourke’s journey to Wakefield has included previous stints with Salford Red Devils, Whitehaven, and London Broncos. His resilience and adaptability have been evident, particularly after overcoming a significant injury in 2024.

This contract extension reflects Wakefield Trinity’s confidence in Rourke’s abilities and their commitment to building a strong squad for the future.
