The North Queensland Cowboys have confirmed that Jake Clifford will remain with the club for the 2026 NRL season, extending his tenure with the side where he first made his mark in first grade.

Clifford, 27, has been a reliable playmaking option for the Cowboys since returning from his Super League stint with Hull FC. Known for his accurate kicking game and steady hand in the halves, Clifford has provided valuable depth and leadership in the playmaking department during the 2025 season.

The retention of Clifford adds to the Cowboys’ growing list of re-signings as the club looks to stabilise its roster heading into next year, following their capture of Reed Mahoney and other key squad moves.

Clifford first debuted for North Queensland in 2018 and has since accumulated over 100 first-grade appearances across stints in the NRL and Super League. His renewed deal will see him continue as a dependable squad member and mentor for the Cowboys’ next generation of halves.
