The Leigh Leopards have received a huge boost ahead of this weekend’s eliminator final against Wakefield Trinity, with two of the club’s most trusted performers committing their futures to the team.
Powerful forward Nathan Wilde, 25, has penned an extension that will keep him in Leopards colours until the end of 2027. Wilde has been a consistent presence in the pack, combining strength with work rate, and his long-term deal is a real show of faith from both the player and the club.
Meanwhile, Gareth O’Brien, 33, has agreed to stay on for another season. The experienced playmaker is one of the most reliable figures in Super League, with more than 300 top-flight appearances and over 1,500 career points to his name. His composure and game management will be invaluable as the Leopards chase further success.
Head coach Adrian Lam and his squad now turn their attention to the big clash against Wakefield Trinity. After a strong season and with key men locked in for the future, Leigh will head into the eliminator final as favourites, backed by their passionate fans and buoyed by the news of these re-signings.
With Wilde powering through tackles and O’Brien pulling the strings, the Leopards look well placed to take another step toward glory.
