Wakefield Trinity confirm 2026 squad numbers as Smoothy and Sinfield headline new-look spine.
Wakefield Trinity have unveiled their official squad numbers for the 2026 season, signalling another step in the club’s rebuilding process following their return to Super League.
Among the most notable allocations is new recruit Tyson Smoothy, who will wear the prestigious number 9 jumper. The experienced hooker is expected to play a key role in guiding Trinity around the ruck and providing leadership through the middle, bringing NRL pedigree and composure to Wakefield’s spine.
Also drawing attention is Jack Sinfield, son of Leeds Rhinos great Kevin Sinfield, who has been handed squad number 20. The young playmaker continues to carve his own path in the professional game, and his inclusion adds both intrigue and long-term promise to Trinity’s squad depth as the club looks to build a sustainable future.
Wakefield’s backline will again be led by Tom Johnstone in the number 5 jersey, while Max Jowitt takes the number 1 shirt. The halves pairing of Jake Trueman (6) and Mason Lino (7) shapes as a crucial combination, offering a blend of creativity, game management and Super League experience.
Up front, Mike McMeeken (8) and Jazz Tevaga (13) provide plenty of muscle and intensity, supported by powerful middle rotation options including Caleb Hamlin-Uele (15), Caius Faatili (16) and Ky Rodwell (10).
Several emerging talents have also been recognised with squad numbers, including Harvey Smith (17), Isaiah Vagana (18) and Ellis Lingard (29), as Trinity continue to balance experience with youth development.
