The Canberra Raiders have confirmed that Zac Hosking has re-signed with the club on a two-year extension, keeping him in the nation’s capital until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
Hosking debuted in the NRL in 2022 with the Brisbane Broncos before stints at Penrith and now Canberra. He is known for his relentless work rate in defence and strong edge-line running.
The hard-working second-rower has made 46 NRL appearances to date, including 21 for Canberra since joining the club in 2024 from the Penrith Panthers.
Hosking, 28, has firmly cemented his place in the Raiders’ starting forward pack since arriving from Penrith, overcoming injuries last season to return with renewed purpose in 2025.
A standout in a strong forward lineup alongside teammates like Papalii, Smithies, and Tapine, Hosking’s versatility—slotting across the edge or middle—has made him a “unicorn” on the park.
Club insiders suggest Hosking was targeted by rival teams but chose loyalty, reinforced by Canberra’s strategic retention plan that has included extensions for core squad members like Savelio Tamale, with Kaeo Weekes is likely to re-sign shortly.
This latest re-signing strengthens the Raiders’ long-term forward pack plans under head coach Ricky Stuart as the club looks to build sustained finals consistency.
