The Melbourne Storm have secured the services of Tui Kamikamica for the 2026 NRL season, ending months of speculation surrounding the future of the experienced forward.

Kamikamica had been off-contract as of November 1, 2025, following the conclusion of his previous deal, leaving him without a confirmed club for 2026 and firmly on the radar of rival suitors. However, the Storm have now confirmed the 31-year-old has signed a new one-year contract extension, keeping him in purple until at least the end of the 2026 campaign.

The Fijian international had attracted strong interest from Super League heavyweight St Helens, who were reportedly monitoring his availability amid Melbourne’s ongoing salary cap juggling. South Sydney were also linked as a potential NRL destination should Kamikamica decide to seek a fresh opportunity elsewhere.

Instead, the powerful middle forward has opted for continuity, choosing to remain in Craig Bellamy’s system where he has become a reliable contributor to Melbourne’s rotation over recent seasons.

Kamikamica’s retention adds further stability to a Storm forward pack that has already undergone notable movement ahead of 2026, with the club balancing experience and youth as they continue to evolve their roster.

With his future now settled, Kamikamica will look to play a key role as Melbourne once again position themselves as premiership contenders.
