Catalans Dragons have confirmed that powerhouse prop Chris Satae has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club through the end of the 2026 Super League season.
The 32-year-old Tongan international has been a standout in the Dragons’ forward pack since his arrival from Hull FC in 2024. Satae has featured 45 times for the French club, scoring 6 tries, and has become a cornerstone of their forward momentum.
Chris Satae said:
“First of all I would like to thank Bernard for giving me the opportunity to extend my time with the Dragons. I’m really grateful for it as I’ve grown to love this club and the community of Perpignan. I’m looking forward to contributing and helping to get this club back to where it belongs.”
A firm fan favourite in Perpignan, Satae’s impact both on and off the field has not gone unnoticed.
Catalans Head Coach Joel Tomkins added:
“I am delighted that Chris has agreed to extend his stay at the club. He is a big part of our team and club, a great professional and a role model to our younger players.”
Satae’s extension continues a positive trend for the Dragons as they look to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for silverware in 2026. His leadership and physical presence will be vital for a team aiming to return to the Super League’s top tier.
