The 2025 Betfred Super League season will be the last in familiar colours for a number of players at both St Helens and Hull FC, with both clubs confirming departures ahead of the 2026 campaign.
St Helens Announce Multiple Exits
St Helens have confirmed that Will Roberts, Dayon Sambou and Jonny Vaughan will all leave the club at the end of the season, alongside forward James Bell.
One of the most notable exits is that of Joe Batchelor, who will move on after making 111 appearances in the famous Red V. Since his arrival, Batchelor has become a reliable figure in the Saints pack, playing a crucial role in their consistency across recent campaigns.
The club paid tribute to the departing players, thanking them for their service and commitment to the team. Their next destinations have not yet been confirmed, but all will be aiming to finish their time at the Totally Wicked Stadium on a high.
Hull FC Set for Major Squad Changes
Over on the east coast, Hull FC are also braced for significant turnover in their playing group. The Black and Whites announced that Will Gardiner, Zach Jebson, Jack Ashworth, Jack Charles and Jordan Lane will all depart at the end of 2025.
Veteran Jordan Rapana has also confirmed he will retire, bringing to an end a long and distinguished career in both Super League and the NRL. Rapana joined Hull FC for the 2025 season, bringing leadership and experience, and will now hang up his boots.
The changes are part of a wider rebuild as Hull look to reshape their squad heading into 2026 under a new direction.
