MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Dewsbury host a Super League game in 2025. Didn’t think that would be written this year. Huddersfield have had to give up the home advantage this week on account of a Stereophonics gig at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Giants have only won one game this season and that was on neutral ground against Hull FC in Newcastle so we will see if this will benefit the Huddersfield based side.

Luke Robinson has named his 21-man squad to face Wigan Warriors with one key man missing out but another returning. Adam Swift has dropped out of the squad but Matty English, who has been given time after failing a HIA, returns.

Matt Peet only makes one change from the win at Salford before the break with Tom Forber coming in to replace Kian McDermott. Abbas Miski remains out as he recovers from a knee injury and recent rugby union recruit Christian Wade needs more game time for the reserves. He had also provided a Luke Thompson update with the England international suffering from broken ribs and rested for another week. Sam Walters is the club’s other long-term absentee with Brad O’Neill and Ethan Havard recently returning.

Wigan are in a better position especially after the week off and there is no reason that they can’t carry on their form heading into the second half of the season.
