The NRL Match Review Committee has handed down three further sanctions from Saturday night’s action, headlined by a suspension to Manly prop Toafofoa Sipley.
Sipley was hit with a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge from the 42nd minute of the Sea Eagles’ clash, with his prior record bumping the penalty to three matches with an early plea, or four if contested. The contact was on Tigers forward David Klemmer.
In Townsville, the Cowboys’ season came to an end with a 38-30 loss to the Broncos, and the judiciary findings added to their misery. Outside back Braidon Burns was cited for Grade 1 Dangerous Contact on Brisbane fullback Reece Walsh in the 7th minute. He faces a $1,000 fine with an early plea or $1,500 if found guilty at the panel.
Broncos hooker Cory Paix also came under scrutiny, charged with a Grade 1 Crusher Tackle on Karl Lawton in the 42nd minute. His penalty is a $1,500 fine with an early plea, rising to $2,000 if he heads to the panel.
