Canberra (32, +108) collected two bye points to stay in outright first, two points ahead of Melbourne (30, +220) and Canterbury-Bankstown (30, +96), and four points ahead of the NZ Warriors (28, +31). Brisbane (24, +80), Penrith (23, +25), Manly Warringah (22, +58), and the Sydney Roosters (22, +21) rounded out the top eight.

Manly Warringah and South Sydney also collected bye points in the final round of multiple byes for 2025.

While Melbourne were missing Ryan Papenhuyzen, Will Warbrick, Xavier Coates, and Cameron Munster, they were still too classy for Newcastle at McDonald Jones Stadium. A Dominic Young double gave Newcastle an 8-6 half-time lead. Melbourne scored five second half tries (doubles to Eliesa Katoa and Trent Loiero) to secure their sixth straight win.

There was a rare scoreless second half between Canterbury and North Queensland at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. Canterbury scored their two tries (Jacob Preston and Jethro Rinakama) five minutes before half-time and the Cowboys’ only try (Zac Laybutt) came in the 15th minute.

Chanel Harris-Tavita scored two tries in the Warriors’ win over the Wests Tigers at Go Media Stadium. The Warriors led 22-8 after 50 minutes before Adam Doueihi’s second try cut the margin to eight points. Harris-Tavita (with his second try) and Leka Halasima put the game away with two tries in the last eight minutes. Replacing Luke Metcalf at halfback, Tanah Boyd kicked five goals from six attempts.

Nicholas Hynes scored 16 points (two tries and four goals) in Cronulla-Sutherland’s win over The Dolphins at Sharks Stadium; the Sydney Roosters defeated St George Illawarra at Jubilee Stadium: Daniel Tupou (Roosters) and Sione Finau (Dragons) both scored doubles; Penrith and Brisbane both stayed in touch with the top four with wins over Parramatta (CommBank Stadium) and the Gold Coast (Cbus Super Stadium) respectively.
