MATCHDAY PREVIEW
The Brisbane Broncos make the trip to the glitter strip as they look to make it a clean sweep against their little brothers from the Gold Coast in the Titans as they meet for the second time this year on Sunday evening.
The Broncos find themselves in fifth position on the ladder and with the Origin period in their rear-view mirror will look to solidify their place in the top eight and will need to be almost flawless from here on out if they hope to sneak their way into the top four. The Titans on the other hand come into this clash looking to claw their way up from the bottom of the ladder and a win here and a chance to rain on the Broncos parade would just be the cherry on top for a side that has had very little to cheer about in 2025.
The Broncos now get to turn all their focus towards the home stretch of the regular season as they look to keep up their strong run of form that has seen them win four of their last five games. If the Broncos can manage to stay the course and build their squad into good form come finals time, the Broncos become a very scary proposition heading into a do-or-die finals run.
It has been a rollercoaster week for the Titans with a change in ownership, today’s news Kieran Foran is retiring at the end of 2025, talk of a retiring head coach and a club captain desperately searching for some direction and clarity around the future plans of the organization, it shapes up as the perfect storm and leaves so many questions around what Gold Coast side turns up to play on Sunday. Will we get a fired up side determined to prove their worth and desperate to drag themselves up from the foot of the ladder or will we get the side that has been struggling to find themselves and keep their head above water that we have seen for much of this season? Only time will tell.
Neither side has the advantage in the last ten clashes with both sides walking out with five wins apiece. Both sides welcome back their Origin stars with a trio of Broncos reps and the Titans lone rep Tino walking out of Accor stadium with a series win leaving Payne Haas feeling the sting of defeat. The Broncos have Jesse Arthars looming on the extended bench waiting to retake his wing spot while the Titans welcome back Jayden Campbell as he returns from concussion protocols while barnstorming back-rower David Fifita returns for his first game since round eight.
