The New Zealand Warriors have secured the long-term future of promising halfback Luke Metcalf, who has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
Metcalf, who joined the Warriors from Cronulla in 2023, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2025, helping the club stay in the top-four hunt before his year was cut short by an ACL injury suffered against the Broncos.
Known for his sharp footwork and attacking instinct, Metcalf has become a vital component in Andrew Webster’s plans, with the Warriors viewing him as a key playmaker for their next phase of development.
Since debuting in 2021, Metcalf has represented both Cronulla and the Warriors, developing into one of the competition’s most exciting young halves. His extension ensures the club’s playmaking core remains stable alongside Shaun Johnson’s eventual successor.
