The NRL Match Review Committee has delivered a huge blow to the Brisbane Broncos, with both Reece Walsh and Patrick Carrigan hit with judiciary charges from Sunday’s elimination final.

  • Reece Walsh has been charged twice – for striking (Grade 1) and contrary conduct (Grade 1) during the 53rd minute of the match. Ricky Stuart showed his frustration at Walsh not being sent off in his side’s golden point loss. Walsh will receive $4,800 in fines should he take an early plea.
  • Patrick Carrigan was charged with a careless high tackle (Grade 2) in the 56th minute on Morgan Smithies. He faces a one-match suspension with an early plea (or two if he fights and loses).
  • Zac Hosking (Raiders) was cited for dangerous contact (Grade 1) in the 80th minute of the same game on Walsh. He can accept a $1,000 fine with an early plea.
