Last Five Results: Castleford 44-12 Hull FC (05/09/19), Castleford 18-31 Hull FC (13/06/19), Hull FC 28-12 Castleford (10/05/19), Hull FC 18-26 Castleford (07/02/19), Hull FC 8-28 Castleford (07/09/18)

Preview

Both teams are playing their second match in the space of four days at Totally Wicked Stadium. Hull narrowly defeating Wakefield and Castleford being edged out by Warrington on Thursday night.

Cas have made three changes to the squad they named in mid-week with Sosaia Feki, Jake Trueman and Cheyse Blair all coming into the side. That means Alex Foster and Junior Moors drop out with Gareth O’Brien cup-tied.

Hull make eight changes from the side that beat Wakefield, with Jamie Shaul, Carlos Tuimavave, Josh Griffin, Manu Ma’u, Ligi Sao, Jordan Johnstone, Gareth Ellis and Ratu Naulago all returning. Josh Bowden and Masi Matongo are among those who miss out.

Prediction

Despite losing in mid-week, I fancy Castleford to advance to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup on Sunday. Their squad looks stronger with the return of Trueman and Blair and were solid defensively in their defeat to Warrington. Hull still need to improve their defence, which could be the difference between the two teams this weekend but should put up a good fight in an exciting contest.
