Round 9 kicked off with a local clash and the third game between these two sides already in 2025. A hat-trick from Ashton and contributions from King, Tai and Dufty took the Wolves on the same points as their opponents and are one point from 4th place. St Helens have lost two games in a row and have lost traction in the title race already.

Hull KR carried on their lead at the top of the league with a comeback win away at Headingley. Tries from Batchelor, Lewis and a double from Broadbent kept the Robins two points clear at the top of the table. But the game has it’s controversies. This game had more red cards in it than any other games this season combined. Sauaso Sue and Ash Handley got their marching orders in this contest.

Huddersfield are still without a win after losing to fellow strugglers Castleford Tigers. Tries from Simm, Mellor, Milnes and a double from Innis Senior got the Tigers their second win of the season. Huddersfield have lost all nine games this season and don’t look like improving any time soon.

Catalans escaped with two points in Golden Point in an entertaining contest in the South of France. Wakefield led at half time with three converted tries but struggled to compete in the second forty. The Dragons came back to lead in the last 10 minutes but a last-minute penalty sent the game to Golden Point. Smith scored a controversial try to get the two points for the French club.

Salford continued their struggles with a loss at home to Leigh Leopards. Leigh took an early lead in the contest and never looked back after that. Tries from Towse, McIntosh, Davis, Charnley and a double from Badrock took the Leopards up to second for a short period of time over the weekend.
