Preview

The teams last met just over a week ago, with Saints claiming the two points to extend their winning run against Rovers to eight matches. Hull KR stunned Wigan with a sensational display last time out, while St Helens are on a five-game winning run.

Saints have James Roby and Zeb Taia back from injury, meaning youngsters Josh Eaves and Lewis Dodd drop out of the squad. Mark Percival continues his recovery and isn’t quite ready to return to action on Friday.

Hull KR make one change from the squad that played so well against Wigan last week with Mitch Garbutt replacing Jamie Ellis, as Rovers look to claim back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Prediction

This one seemed nailed on as a St Helens win until the Robins produced a magnificent team performance to dispatch Wigan last week. Tony Smith’s much-changed side looked refreshed against the Warriors which will no doubt concern Saints coach Kristian Woolf. Friday’s clash should be much closer than the previous meeting, but the hosts quality should tell in a close encounter.
