MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Wigan Warriors are back on the road, just 8.6 miles from the stadium where they were convincingly beaten last weekend by Wakefield. The reigning champions struggled from the outset in that clash and now face a tricky visit to the Jungle – a ground where form matters and Castleford will be eager to bounce back.

It’s been a mixed week for the Cherry and Whites. While Liam Marshall has been cleared to return, 2023 Man of Steel Bevan French remains sidelined with a calf injury. Former rugby union star Christian Wade could be in line for his professional rugby league debut, but he’s more likely just travelling with the squad to gain experience.

Castleford, meanwhile, welcome a fresh face with the immediate signing of former NRL forward Joe Stimson on an 18-month deal. Fletcher Rooney also comes into the squad, replacing Cain Robb (HIA) and Hugo Salabio.

After losing at home to league leaders Hull KR, Castleford will be desperate to put in a better performance against the champions.

Wigan, on the other hand, are aiming to bounce back into the title race after the Wakefield stumble. Expect the Warriors to push hard for a statement win as they chase the League Leaders’ Shield.

Castleford were beaten at home last week by Super League leaders Hull KR and they’ll hope to impress more now the Champions are in town.

Wigan, on the other hand, are aiming to bounce back into the title race after the Wakefield stumble. Expect the Warriors to push hard for a statement win as they chase the League Leaders’ Shield.
