St George Illawarra have confirmed the signing of forward Josh Kerr, who will return to the Red V from the 2026 NRL season on a contract running until the end of 2027.

Kerr, 29, previously played 68 NRL games for the Dragons between 2019 and mid-2023 before being released to join the Dolphins during their inaugural season. Since then, the Indigenous All Stars representative has made 22 appearances for the Dolphins, adding valuable punch to their middle rotation.

Recently Kerr made headlines for comments about referee Ashley Klein’s officiating in the deciding State of Origin match at Accor Stadium, resulting in a breach notice from the NRL.

His return adds depth and experience to the Dragons’ forward stocks, with the club looking to bolster its pack ahead of a new campaign under coach Shane Flanagan.

Kerr will link up with several former teammates and is expected to play a key role in the club’s middle third rotation in 2026 and beyond.
