South Sydney Rabbitohs have confirmed that veteran playmaker Cody Walker has re-signed with the club for the 2026 NRL season.
The 35-year-old five-eighth has been a cornerstone of South Sydney’s attack since making his debut in 2016, amassing 222 NRL appearances to date. Walker was instrumental in guiding the Rabbitohs to the 2021 NRL Grand Final in Brisbane, where they fell short against Penrith in a thrilling decider.
Earlier this year, Walker celebrated a personal milestone by crossing for his 100th career try in the Rabbitohs’ clash with St George Illawarra. Renowned for his creativity, vision, and ball-playing ability, Walker remains one of the most influential playmakers in the competition.
His re-signing is another major retention for the Rabbitohs as they prepare for the 2026 campaign. The announcement comes in the same week South Sydney close out their 2025 season with a grudge match against the Sydney Roosters on Friday night — a fitting occasion to celebrate the extension of one of the club’s modern greats.
