MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Hull will look to continue their early season form with a Thursday trip to the Jungle. Cartwright has been forced into a couple of changes for this week’s game, with Zak Hardaker (calf) and Jed Cartwright (hamstring) missing out.

Davy Litten could make his first appearance of the season as he nears a full return from a knee injury, whilst Will Kirby is also called into this week’s 21-man squad.

Cade Cust caught a stray knee in the back last week, ending his game at Wakefield prematurely. FC’s medical team will be keeping tabs on the Australian over the next 48 hours, giving him every chance to feature again this week.

The home side are without Jeremiah Simbiken this week after he started the game last week against Catalans.

Castleford’s start to the season has been what we have come to expect from the Tigers in the past few seasons, winning the odd game to stay away from trouble but never pushing more than that.

When I saw this was a standalone game at the start of the season, I thought this was an awful game to pick with two poor teams battling each other but Hull FC have impressed me this season. Harvey Barron and Lewis Martin have been the standout players for the Black and Whites this season. Martin has four tries this season and Aidan Sezer has seven try assists taking him to second in the rankings.

Hull will carry on their form from the start of the season and have another solid performance going into the Hull derby.

Prediction: Hull FC by 16
