MATCHDAY PREVIEW

The Knights return to the Hunter to launch round two of the 2025 season and will look to make it two on the trot as they host the Dolphins. Both sides last start results very easily could have gone the other way and the Dolphins will look to open their account for season 2025 and claim their first victory and give fans from south-east Queensland something to cheer about following a tumultuous week courtesy of Cyclone Alfred.

The Knights walked away victors from a very scrappy round 1 matchup against the Tigers and will look to show a bit more polish in front of their home faithful and put on a bit of a show. The Novocastrians have plenty to be excited about with the attacking upside of captain Kalyn Ponga and boom youngster Fletcher Sharpe sniffing around the ruck sure to cause the Dolphins plenty of trouble if anyone switches off in the middle.

Kristian Woolf’s side will be left ruing some handling errors as they made 12 errors in their two-point loss to the Bunnies and Woolf will be hoping for a much more controlled effort as they chase their first win of the year. Tom Gilbert was tackling anything that moved in the middle of the park and was immense in his return from a long injury layoff, running for 100 metres and making 59 tackles in just 56 minutes.

Knights have Adam Elliott returning to the fold from the bench while the Dolphins have lost Kulikefu Finefeuiaki and Connelly Lemuelu for this week which brings Oryn Keeley into the starting side and Mark Nicholls onto the bench. Kodi Nikorima takes his place at six in the only changes from both sides last start.
