MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Super Saturday for Round 11 kicks off at Suncorp Stadium where the Dolphins host the Warriors. Both sides are coming off close wins, with the Dolphins holding off the Eels 20-16 and the Warriors edging out the Dragons 15-14.

For the Dolphins, Kristian Woolf has made no changes to the 17 that got the job done against the Eels last week. The only change is a positional switch, with Ray Stone starting at lock and Tom Gilbert shifting to the second row.

The Dolphins did just enough to beat the Eels last week, but they’ll need to do more than that against the Warriors, who have won four straight games. The good news is they’re back at Suncorp where they have a great record this year. Given it’s an afternoon game, there should be ample opportunity for Isaiya Katoa and Kodi Nikorima to continue their hot form. Katoa in particular has impressed this year as a 21-year-old, looking like the NRL’s most improved player this year. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will also be hunting for another try to add to his record at Suncorp. He’s scored seven tries in his last five games he’s played there.

For the Warriors, James Fisher-Harris is a big inclusion in the front row as he looks to return from a pec injury that has sidelined him for several weeks. Bunty Afoa drops out of the squad to make way. Jackson Ford is out after suffering a concussion last week. He’s replaced in the 17 by Sam Healey who joins the bench. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is a chance to return after being named in the reserves.

The return of Fisher-Harris is huge for this Warriors team. He’ll add even more strength to an already strong middle forward rotation. Riding high on a four-game win streak, they’re finding different ways to win. Last week it was a Luke Metcalf field goal that got them over the line against a tough Dragons defence. Metcalf continues to prove his ability as the halfback of this side, leading them to a spot in the top two, all while they’ve had plenty of experience on the sidelines. They return to Suncorp Stadium this week where they’ve got a poor record, only winning two of their past eight games there. That being said, one of those wins was two weeks ago when they beat the Cowboys at Magic Round.
