3. Bateman Wins Man of Steel
Embed from Getty ImagesThere’s plenty of contenders for this year’s coveted Man of Steel award, but my pick is John Bateman who returns to Wigan an improved player following two seasons in the NRL with Canberra Raiders.
The 27-year-old was a huge success in Australia, albeit without winning the NRL title.
If he stays injury free following a difficult 2020 campaign, Bateman should become the first Wigan player to win the award since Sam Tomkins almost a decade ago.
